Portrait

This is a recent painting I made of my mother Mary Lawler who died in late 2017. It was quite an emotional journey for me as it is the first painting I have made of her since she died.
I wanted to capture her beauty and poise, something she never lost even up to the end.

She is pictured wearing her bridesmaid dress at her sister Helen’s wedding in the 1970s.

Here she exists forever at the Edgelands.
